INVEST IN DETROIT

Detroit is experiencing a tremendous amount of residential, institutional and commercial growth.  It is a City alive with historic, residential and commercial buildings that are drawing interest and finances from the state, public and private sectors.  Part of the City's long term plan to re-establish itself as a mecca for arts, culture, commerce and residence with trends developing in the renovation and refurbishment of  old buildings.  With housing and business potential, many investors are buying and rehabilitating properties with increasingly promising returns on investment within the medium and long term range.

Dan Gilbert plans to transform downtown Detroit by the end of 2015 with a united front of governmental officials and business leaders, an expedited permitting process and less red tape.  Visitors of downtown Detroit are expected to see changes in areas like Campus Martius and Capitol Park where smaller improvements  will set the stage for the larger-scale revitalization.  Capitol Park is expected to hosts music events, movies, food trucks / carts and art displays in the summer months.  It has been said by Matt Cullen, president and COO of Rock Ventures, "there are a lot of people freed up from the normal bureaucracy of government and business".

Richard Carlisle, president of Carlisle/Wortman Associates LLC, said the implementation of the M1 Rail System from Woodward Avenue downtown to New Center is critical to the project's success.  The M1 Rail System is currently planned to cover three miles.

Dan Gilbert has also announced that Moosejaw Mountaineering and Backcountry Travel Inc. has agreed to a long-term lease and that a 15,000 square foot Papa Joe's Gourmet Marketing and Catering grocery store will open at the First National Building.
